      Online play in BC

British Columbia permits gambling only where the provincial government operates it. BCLC runs PlayNow.com, which is the province's one lawful online gambling site. The Independent Gambling Control Office, which regulates gambling, holds that any other online gambling site taking BC players is operating illegally in BC.

No provincial protection reaches a private online casino. Neither PlayNow limits nor Game Break self-exclusion applies on such a site, and the provincial regulator cannot receive complaints about it. Every paid link on the Field Sheet carries the Ad label and goes to one partner only, a private online casino. It pays the Field Sheet a commission, and it may change.
